Casting check: measure before you cast
The model is checked with every change: open edges, body count, thinnest wall and metal volume. If all is well, the app shows “Ready for casting”.
Open edges and body count
Surfaces that are not closed and disconnected parts are found; if a model that should be one piece has two bodies, you get a warning.
Thinnest wall
The thinnest point of the model is measured on the exact geometry. Separate minimum wall limits apply to gold, silver and platinum; any area below the limit is shown in place.
Metal volume and weight
Metal volume is calculated from the exact geometry; the weight in grams for 14k, 18k and 22k, white and rose gold, platinum and silver appears side by side.
Casting shrinkage allowance
The casting STL is scaled up by the shrinkage allowance of the selected metal.
